Pros

Good to learn about the industry
Travel opportunities
Good training and networking
Good evironment, long lasting jobs

Cons

Very bad middle management, from a technical backgound without leadership skills
HR policies are very outdated
Very slow to react to labour market changes, very very very very slow to promote the best and deal with underperformers

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire the best and few people, give real bonus to encourage the best to stay

    Near home. Hourtime flexibility. Good benefits.

    Cons

    Not prepared leadership. Not worried about keeping senior workers.

    Pros

    Company has a good trainee program for newly graduates in engineering. There are internal opportunities for job changes. The product is very interesting, specially for engineers. The company built a good public reputation over the last year, with lots of investment in marketing to attract new employees, so former employees are valued by other companies. Salary (for newly graduates) and benefits (medical, dental, medicine, retirement plan) are above average in Brazil.

    Cons

    Carrer evolution stops after 4-5 years, when employee is too specialyzed to find a similar position in other industries. Management positions are always given to the same employees, even if they were not successful in previous management roles. Company culture is based on authoritarianism: questioning a management decision or presenting a different point of view is usually not well received by the managers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Refresh the company leadership, give opportunities to other people. Listen to your employees. Value technical experienced professionals, do not treat them like easily replaceable labor.
