    Pros

Average benefits, free coffee/tea, most of the coworkers are hardworking, newer building, and it pays the bills.

    Cons

Upper Management: Lack leadership, Great leadership is knowing how to get the most out of human beings, without going too far, which happens too much at Emerson. It is not a work/family balance place. It is not a place you can advance your career. Very little opportunity for advancement. That is why they will never be on the list of most desired places to work. It is all about their bonuses and not treating people with respect. Employees are not machines. It is a very stressful place to work, and strong egos drive the vision of company in to poor sales. Low Pay: Emerson is considered lower paying company, compared to competitors, which is why high turnover in many departments is common.

    Advice to Management

When you downsize a company, start with nonperforming directors, too many chiefs (directors). When you layoff non-managers, they respect leadership more and it kills morale. Stop protecting directors, and have the guts to lay them off too.
