I have been working at Emerson full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Smart people, good work/life balance, focused work force and many dedicated people. Good benefits - healthcare, 401k, on-site massage available, relatively flexible work hours.

    Cons

Lacks focus and strategic thinking - especially at middle management level. Way too much short term decision making and changing of priorities to be effective. Products take too long to be developed and can be overly complex.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Decide what the company strategy is on its products and stick to that decision. Don't keep changing people and their job responsibilities. The career development opportunities aren't great and could do with improving to keep your staff.
