Pros

Great work life balance at emory university. A wealth of resources are also available. People are friendly.

Cons

Limited career opportunities probably because people don't leave once they get settled in their role. More turnover might be beneficial for Emory and it's employees.

    Pros

Flexible work environment and the people try to be nice.

    Cons

Out dated everything. Including how people think!

    Advice to Management

Look at how other Clinical Labs are working and take some steps to keep up instead of making your employees work with under-par equipment and protocols.

    Pros

Benefits are decent, not amazing though. Pay is pretty good for the educational industry. If you have kids and can put in 10 years they get tuition paid in full. Retirement contributions are pretty good.

    Cons

Your boss defines your work experience. It can really change drastically boss to boss. Raises have been 0 or near zero for several years now.

    Advice to Management

Institute 360 degree reviews as quickly as possible. Management needs to be reviewed by peers and staff as part of the normal process. There are some great bosses at Emory, but there are an awful lot of mediocre ones.
