Pros

Advance opportunities, good upper and middle leadership

Cons

Things take a while to come to life, being a governmnet agency sometimes the money doesn't come quite up to par with the private sector, yet is offset with the benefits and pension.

    Pros

Work-life balance is important. If you do good work, you do get recognized for that. When you help people, it is very rewarding.

    Cons

The people can be very cliquish, reminiscent of high school. It's great to work for a company that offers retirement benefits, but you do have to meet the age and years of service eligibility. During that time, people get jaded and they can bring their negative attitudes to work and it can be cancerous mentality. It takes a strong person to overcome that pack mentality.

    Advice to Management

It's easy to be negative but lead by example. Don't gossip like other staff members. Be a positive, mature influence from the top down.

  2. Worst experience of my professional life.

    Pros

The physical environment is nice- clean, well-maintained, and comfortable.

    Cons

Training for the employee call-center was horrible. The information given was inadequate and inconsistent. The trainers are scatterbrained and barely literate. As a new hire, your performance is marked down for asking for clarification on various subject matter even if it was not covered in training. Not at all hospitable to new hires and an all around miserable experience.
