I have been working at Energizer Holdings full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

The people are wonderful. Management is flexible and offers work at home options when needed.

Cons

Energizer is falling under the pressures of shareholder influence. This has caused the need for a massive restructure recently. Morale is low and everyone is waiting for the proverbial "other shoe".

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep the communication open.

I have been working at Energizer Holdings full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

The company offers a good work/life balance, competitive compensation, relaxed atmosphere, nice people

    Cons

The wheels are coming off and the employees are progressively taking on a bunker mentality. The battery business is shrinking (lower sales of disposable batteries, over capacity in the industry, lower margins, more competition = shrinking, sick business) and the personal care business never had a chance (competitors with innovation, deep pockets, smart people, tight relations with customers and consumers; Energizer Personal Care with really no right to win and a low ROI).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The board of directors ruined Energizer by making bad decisions (purchasing third-tier personal care brands) and non-decisions (not getting into rechargeable batteries, other forms of portable power). Upper management and the board of directors should retire and return all their bonuses since the company became public because they've destroyed so much shareholder value and potential value.

    Pros

    Good salary and benefits.

    Cons

Moving to outsource and off-shore a lot of functions that were provided in the US. They have always been a global company, but the product for US markets had been made in the US. Also are now more of a "holdings" company than a research and development company. It seems as if they now prefer to buy existing successful companies and their products than to actually invent anything new.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Seems to be behind the curve moving things over seas when other companies have turned around and are bringing things back to the states.
