Engility used to be a great place to work!

Pros

When Engility first opened it was a great place to work; lots of opportunity, great people to work with, etc. We didn't have much support from our parent company L-3 Communications but we made things happen anyway.

Cons

Engility was taken over by some less than nice L-3 Communications Management people, so what was a great place to work now has the negative political environment that L-3 has. Maybe it's not that way in all L-3 organizations, but it is in Billerica, MA.

    Pros

The project management work is well-resourced. The busy-bee workers are all great people. And several older, more experienced managers are true role models.

    Cons

Certain other leaders lack necessary soft-skills with employees and customers, often willing to place blame on others when faced with stress or conflict.

Task management became guess work, to include clearly delineated responsibilities. There appears to also be no opportunity for upward management or career management.

Continuous employees haven't had a raise in three years, some have taken pay cuts, while the company continues to try to buy other companies.

The benefits package pales in comparison to competitors.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Establish a career-management track with structured next-step roles/positions (i.e., Analyst, Senior Analyst, etc.)

Ensure assigned PMs do not get too comfortable in their six-figure roles in their offices.

Stop purchasing other companies and focus on improving your own house.
