Pros

EASY job, there is very little stress as the students do not have exams in your subject. As it is their CONVERSATION English class you spend most of the time playing games and doing role plays. Good pay and the school provides for your accomodation. Friendly co workers.

Cons

Peoples experiences vary widely. it depends on which school you end up in.

Advice to Management

Let people know before they enter the contry what part of Korea they will be placed in!!

    Pros

Most countries that offer opportunities to work with children do not pay this well, or provide perks as good as these (airfare, apartment, health insurance).

    Cons

The EPIK program relies on third party recruiters, which can vary greatly in quality and efficiency. The program also varies greatly by city in Korea... some cities have great retention rates and treat their Native English Teachers wonderfully, other cities are still working out the kinks and don't have structures in place to assist their teachers very much. Make sure you research your recruiters and the cities you list as your preferences very carefully!

    Pros

Takes very good care of you. Pays for room and board. You only work a 9-5; 5 days a week. Excellent vacation time. At the end of your contract you'll receive severance and pension.

    Cons

Co-teachers at each school will vary. What is taught at orientation isn't always how Korean co-teachers will utilize you in the school.

    Advice to Management

Have co-teacher and native teacher seminars in which they learn how to teach together.
