    Pros

    Great co-workers
    Great company culture and values
    Great customers
    Engaging and challenging work environment
    Career Growth

    Cons

not really any downside - people talk about the hours being long. It's simple - either you want to be a leader and manager, that takes sacrifice and commitment. I don't know anyone successful in business that isn't successful that has put in the time, hours, and commitment.

Great Founding Values Provided by Taylor Family ... Executive and Senior Management Don't Exemplify Values

    Pros

    COMMENTS: IT DIVISION ONLY
    Exciting and Challenging Work
Constant Reorganization provided opportunities to do new things
Invested in training of employees early on in my career ... basically nonexistent by the time I left
    Competitive Pay
Management Training Program Instituted around 2006
    Mentor Program
Annual Off-Site Managers Meeting (Provide Information About the Business, Competitor, etc.)
Employee and Family Event: very nice
    Management Open-Door Policy
Handled the layoffs of 2008 with kindness and class
Periodic Survey Provided for Employees to get their input on various subjects

    Cons

    COMMENTS: IT DIVISION ONLY
Good Ole-Boys: Doesn't matter what you bring to the table... if you are not in the select click you will only get past mid-level management
Promotions are based on who you kiss up to, emulate and how many people you are willing to throw under the bus
Diversity is nonexistent : for a company that has it's headquarters in a major metropolitan area it's amazing that the management staff doesn't reflect the demographics
The current Executive Staff has been in place for a long time so things don't change quickly

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Andy Taylor seems like an exceptional man, but is probably so far removed from what goes on in his company he may not be aware of the real situation. The Board of Directors should try to get unfiltered information from current and past employees. Enterprise is a great place to work with great founding values, but you have an IT Executive Staff that is out of touch. There needs to be a real shake up if change is going to happen. The Executive Staffs compensation should be tied to the founding values. Maybe if this is done Enterprise can finally be a company where all talented people have a fair chance:
Our brand is the most valuable thing we own
Personal honesty and integrity are the foundation of our success
Customer service is our way of life
Enterprise is a fun and friendly place, where teamwork rules
We work hard ... and we reward hard work
Great things happen when we listen ... to our customers and to each other
We strengthen our communities, one neighborhood at a time
        Our doors are open

    No opinion of CEO
