Current Employee - Assistant Manager in Los Angeles, CA
Current Employee - Assistant Manager in Los Angeles, CA

I have been working at Enterprise Rent-A-Car full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

-Great Experience
-Truly learn how to run a business
-Learn how to manager others
-Learn how to deliver excellent customer service & sales

Cons

-Approximately 55 non flexible hours a week
-Low pay for the work we do, and how much money we generate for the company
-The higher you get (assistant manager and above) the further you may have to move with little notice
-Corporate cutting higher level positions, making moving up harder
-Dealing with the general public

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Bring back the fun to Enterprise, the only reason we put up with terrible hours and low pay for how hard we work is because of the people we work with, and #2 because of the benefits, lately all of our budgets have been slashed and instead of encouraging employees with promotions, we are threatened (collectively) with termination.

I have been working at Enterprise Rent-A-Car part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Great co-workers, you get to drive the newest cars, work isn't complicated, great branch managers, great to work outside when the weather is nice, hour lunches, laid back atmosphere.

    Cons

Overworked and seriously underpaid for the amount of work you have to do, some assistant managers can be a bit much and some area managers can be down-right nasty. You have to clean up some really nasty stuff sometimes, you have to work outside when the weather is poor and if you go on as a full-time service agent, you'll literally be worked into the ground.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay your people better! Especially your Service Agents! Seriously, without them, your business would be ruined. Pay them better for the amount of work they do, and stop working them into the ground!
