I have been working at Enterprise Rent-A-Car full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

Decent pay for a rental car company. Time goes by very fast. You're typically surrounded by younger, outgoing co-workers. Reminds me a lot of Dunder-Mifflin. You get to drive the newest cars. Discounted car rentals and car purchases.

Cons

Long Hours. Customers can be insane! Job can be very physically demanding. You'll feel a bit like a clone. Work/life balance will be 80/20 work.

Former Employee - Work From Home Reservation Sales Agent in Springfield, MO

I worked at Enterprise Rent-A-Car full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Above average initial training.

Base pay is above average for work from home position.

    Benefits offered in 90 days.

Very easy to qualify for the position.

Most if not all team managers have held the same position so they are managing you with personal experience of the job you will perform.

    Company does promote from within.

    Cons

No way to verify your actual stats (reservations picked up by customer name, customer satisfaction or dissatisfaction by customer name/date or any other way that would allow the employee to be confident of the stats they are said to have achieved on a monthly basis.) The position is extremely dependent on each stat you are required to maintain or exceed, yet there is no transparency for the employee to verify anything on a monthly basis.

Provide poor equipment for the job (ie inexpensive headsets that have no mute buttons, no noise cancellation ability etc).

On your last check they remove over $200.00 for their equipment without advising beforehand (you are sent a box and a pre-paid label to mail items back over night, even with that they keep the funds for up to a full month after the end of your employment.)

The at home department is not included in any of the company perks as far as top 100 celebration parties, or night at the movies at no charge or any other company sponsored events. Which wouldn't present any type of issue if the employees weren't able to read and see all of the events they aren't a part of.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Provide transparent proof of all"stats" on a monthly basis, as it stands employees are given endless numbers and absolutely no actual proof of said numbers-given the entire job is dependent on these stats this would be the main area that the "culture and values" are extremely unsatisfactory.

Just one example: number of reservations picked up- no report is given to show actual customer names and if said customer picked up, cancelled, complained etc.

Provide protection to employees that allows them to release abusive callers. Currently a rep is required to accept yelling, profanity, suggestive, and other abusive phone behavior from current or prospective customers.

Provide ongoing assistance to long term employees to assist with "burnout" which is very common with any telephone job.
