I have been working at Entertainment Cruises part-time (more than 5 years)

Pros

Ability to be outside during the summer's and winter's off.

Cons

Transitioning into working in the office is difficult even if you have the qualifications and been with the company for many years.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Raise the pay rate for office sales employees, please, to be competitive with other employers for similar positions. Many of us are college grads and have the qualifications that come with a higher rate of pay.

    Pros

Great place to gain experience within a restaurant. Fun environment to work in. Management is amazing, they care and treat you as a family member. Coworkers bond often at work and outside work. Good opportunities to move up the restaurant ladder.

    Cons

Long 14 shifts on certain days.
Quick reset in-between some busy cruises.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep doing what you're doing. Will probably be one of the best managers I will ever have in my life. (Odyssey Cruise Managers)

I worked at Entertainment Cruises full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Great satisfaction working with a diverse bunch of hard working people. Truly the people make the business a success. Guests being satisfied is a great reward and taking pride in your work as your co workers do is reward enough.

    Cons

Turning over 50% of salaried management evey year for 2 years running and more then that in hourly staff and no one at the Corporate Office seems to mind as long as the $$$ keeps coming in. Those that are still there are just job searching and biding their time. Most are leaving a job they love due to horrible pressures being exerted from the top down. When will someone pay attention to this?

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Your guests are unhappy (YELP, Trip Advisor), your hourly staff are unhappy (Internal shipmate review) and Managers are leaving at an alarming rate in all departments of the operation......what will it take for you to see the writing on the wall and react?
