Worth doing to know what it is like to be treated like Cattle to Slaughter

    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

    Pros

Travel.. not the constantly traveling to the point where you don't know why you pay for your apartment; but the extra travel you can do on weekends to keep you from killing yourself
Decent starting salary.. until you do the math of hours worked.
Lots of responsibility, which can be a great experience

    Cons

You don't know your job until about a month in
I got in trouble for averaging a 60 hour a week month once...
Higher ups make promises you are expected to keep
Any talk that doesn't fit the cult it considered dissent
    Unrealistic expectations.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop threatening people with getting fired to make people work harder, that is an awful strategy.
You invest money to recruit.. spend time to keep the talent, don't punish them by giving more responsibility.

Former Employee - Applications Coordinator  in  Verona, WI
Former Employee - Applications Coordinator in Verona, WI

    Pros

Very good salary and benefits. Fun environment and beautiful campus. Willing to hire and train candidates right out of college from virtually any major. Work is challenging, engaging, and has lots of room to grow. Very strong corporate culture, and willing to put in the time to promote company unity.

Travel perks like frequent flyer miles and hotel points are also cool.

    Cons

Very high-stress and fast-paced environment. Lots of travel for project managers, so that can be hard if you have a family. Employees often put in 60+ hours a week. Employees are expected to be experts as soon as they are trained. Application Managers are sometimes assigned so many customers that they cannot give their Application Coordinators the support they need.

Evaluation is also very subjective. I had a rough start with my AM and she was my sole source of feedback for my first year. Because she told my Team Lead that I wasn't ready for a second customer I never had a chance to get feedback from anyone else. Even though several other co-workers thought I was doing a good job, her opinion was the only one that ever seemed to matter, and after a year I was asked to resign.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

So much of what Epic does is amazing! I think the employee evaluation system needs some checks and balances. Many employees do good work but do not get the recognition or raises they deserve because their Team Leads are new or not as outgoing.
