I worked at Equator Business Solutions

Pros

Free snacks, beverage
Good location in a pretty decent set up
Nice cubicles and offices
Comparable salary to other IT organizations

Cons

Dictatorship from Top
Majority of work force are Visa Sponsored people that the company work them to the ground and expect the same from people with proper visa status and makes the place very uniformed culturally - not in a good way
Culture of fear and intimidation
The management borderline cross the line legally with their behavior toward employees
Hands down worst place I have worked in the past 15 years that I have worked in IT
STAY AWAY at any COST unless you are hungry!

Advice to ManagementAdvice

This is a tough one, since mgmt is the biggest problem themselves and they are total slave drivers with no regard for the people. The company is profitable. The best thing can happen that someone buy them and fire the mgmt.

No work life balance...total lack of management understanding and appreciation of staff

I have been working at Equator Business Solutions

    Pros

You have plenty of people to talk to about programming - there are 40+ developers in the LA office alone...not to mention the other 3 offices. There are some very smart programmers that work here.
Free soda, juice, coffee, fruit and snacks.
    Good location, safe parking.
    Nice cubicles and laptops.

    Cons

PPO insurance for employee + spouse (not including dental and vision) is $500+ a month
LOE (level of effort) on projects is almost always unrealistic and has employees working weekends and overtime constantly
There is no appreciation for personal time sacrifices for your job, as it is expected
    Unpaid overtime is mandatory
The upper management rank employees using something called and "employee scorecard" - which is visible to the entire company - it contains a letter grade and a multilevel percentage grade and is updated monthly. Things such as meeting your LOEs on projects, your bugs reported, your SCARS (another type of bug report) etc, all affect this and this affects your standing. They do not look at people as people but as numbers
Good pay but when you compare that against your hours worked it's actually not good pay.
Tech leads know its bad but can do very little to help.
Employees are managed through fear and belittlement - new employees are so nervous about losing their jobs that they sleep at the office after working until 4-5 in the morning on a regular basis and upper management does nothing to stop it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get a clue and start treating your employees like valuable people - the people that are actually responsible for creating your success. For example - when you have a big project that everyone has worked really hard on don't just send the management team home plus a few people while all the other people who spent nights and weekends in the office are sitting there watching them leave for the day. Don't think its acceptable for employees to work 80+ hours a week - it's not. Also, employees never WANT to come in on the weekends...might want to talk about how people love doing it during orientation.
