Gone are the global opportunities. Focus is now short-term on fire-fighting.

    Pros

Great place to develop expertise in wireless technology.

    Cons

The work day never ends. Very difficult to turn off the blackberry and employees are expected to answer their mobile phones at home 24/7 with no on-call pay.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have to say Ericsson is now a sweat shop. Some overtime is expected however, there doesn't seem to be a limit or concern by managers about the staff is burning out. Recognition is very poor. Hard work is usually rewarded with more hard work due to fire-fighting management. It is difficult to get the less experienced staff to take on more work since this would require training and coaching from the senior engineers who are consistently overloaded.
