    Pros

    Decent pay & benefits for the area, attractive home office setting, good cafeteria. Not many businesses are doing well in this negative growth region. If Erie had any competition, they wouldn't be able to keep younger workers. I would give it 2.5 stars overall and recommend it with significant reservations.

    Cons

    Erie is behind the times. The computer system is archaic. Overall, a frustrating place to work. You'll always feel like you're being held back. Strictly a top down management style. Little room for advancement because the older managers stay until they drop. Heavy on nepotism. On the other hand, if you want to settle in a job and underperform until age 65, you're safe here.

    Advice to Management

    Clean house and provide some retirement incentives. The aging management work force is a drag on progress. The company needs some fresh perspectives. Many of the younger workers feel squashed by older managers who are unsupportive. Give your workers a voice in how they do their jobs.

    Pros

    The people, atmosphere, culture, and goals are awesome. Systems are easy to use and efficient. HR really does a great job finding great people to work here.

    Cons

    Management is very overreaching, can at times seem condescending. Work/life balance is non-existent. If you have something come up short notice, well, that's too bad. You WILL find someone to cover you or you WILL be there. Vacation time must be scheduled very far in advance and is more times than not denied.
