Ernst & Young Global – “On the whole, a good place to work

Apr 12, 2009

3.0

Ernst & Young Global Human Resources Consultant in New York, NY:   (Past Employee - 2008)

Pros

For those whose interest is a career in finance, it is a terrific place to launch a career. Also, over the past ten years, the firm has made great strides in creating more flexibility in the workplace and supporting work/life balance. Working remotely is a possibility for many and the firm provides excellent technology support to support this.

Cons

For those who are in support rather than client-serving roles, the opportunities for advancement are more limited. For those in client-serving roles the hours are generally long and often frequent travel is required.

Advice to Senior Management

In difficult economic times, it is even more important to "walk the talk." Recent headcount reductions have done much to diminish the "People First" philosophy the firm had promoted over the previous years.
