I have been working at Esprit Holdings

Pros

Good incentives

Annual Salary is ok

Good staff discounts on merchandise

Good to have on your Resume as they are a Global company

Sponsor your Visa

Cons

They expect you to work major over time and you are not compensated for it. They have major salary budget cut backs which is difficult to complete tasks - hence why they expect you to work over time in your own time to save on salary costs. A typical 38 hour week can turn in to a 50 hour week. The management team is more focused on the $ more so then on their workers. Main managers of the business have too much responsibilities that they neglect who actually are the poor performers in their business. Esprit has the highest staff turnover as a lot of people are worked until they are stressed.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

A reflection on all your current store managers is in need. Also your Area Managers need to focus on their people skills and better their judgement on situations. A lot of people can talk the talk but not walk the walk. I had to leave due to a Manager being so unorganised and was over covering up their mistakes. This i have witnessed in a lot of the stores.

I have been working at Esprit Holdings

    Pros

Good place to learn the steps of customer service and balancing cash. This later contributes to other jobs which require a backbone in such areas.

    Cons

No room for review or advancement. Once you join Esprit, the chances of promotion is slim as a sales associate.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have a more fair distribution of hours and reasonable reviews so that employees feel more in touch. Some managers are great people, but some could do better.

I worked at Esprit Holdings part-time for less than a year

    Pros

This is the rating for the Esprit store in NYC (not sure if it's still there anymore). Work environment was pleasant and professional compared to other retail experiences. Pay was also a little above average in comparison to other sales associate positions at this time. Managers were professional and pleasant to work with. Hours were fair.

    Cons

A lot of pressure to help everyone in the store even when they do not want help.
Store can get very messy at times and understaffed on certain days.
Commission bonuses- could be bad or good.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Trust that your employees have already asked customers if they need help when they say they did, not all customers need help, some just want to be left alone.
