I have been working at Estée Lauder Companies full-time for more than 5 years

Pros

Lots of days off and discounts. Believes in work/life balance. Lots of opportunity to move and advance.

Cons

Compensation is low. Raises are minimal. Do not give substantial increases with promotions. Little communication with all the brands and corporate.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Reward those employees you are promoting by giving them the salary you would give a new person coming in, rather than just a small increase on current salary. Also needs to engage employees more so they don't just feel like cogs in the wheel, especially brand employees.

    Pros

Top notch Education! Gratis! The ability to change woman's lives!

    Cons

No Monday through Friday schedule, and if the store you are employed by is open holidays you will be working.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Estee Lauder is an amazing company to work for. I know Estee Lauder beauty advisors wish they received Tiffany's or Links of London for Christmas like Clinique does.

New CEO/CFO leave a lot to be desired

I have been working at Estée Lauder Companies full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Good People, good medical and dental benefits, tuition reimbursement program, generous product discounts, ability to travel world wide, corporate casual dess code

    Cons

Work life balance, salary, devalue exiting employees, long hours expected with no compensation as everyone is "exempt", lack of overall employee appreciation. Each year more and more is taken away.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try sticking to the core values that Mrs. Estee Lauder and Mr. Leonard Lauder talked to. Their PEOPLE were their greatest asset. Now that Mr. Leonard Lauder is no longer as involved the new CEO/CFO do not post every available position internally and first recruit from the outside. They pay them higher salaries and then they do less. We have let many full time employess in Manufacturing go to cut costs yet 10 more "gratuitous" SVP positions are created that nullify the cost savings.
