Pros

Yearly raise. Relaxed atmosphere. Annual performance review.

Cons

Too many meetings. Too much red tape. Micromanaging Managers Too much theoretical head knowledge but in reality they don't practice what they preach. Performance review only allows you to get a 2% raise.

    Ability to transfer between divisions
    Professional advancement
    Opportunities to learn the other functional areas of a business
    Exciting industry and products

    Some management does not understand entire process
    Need for recognition of the "little people"
    Better plans to staff at the appropriate level

    I worked at Esterline

    Pros

    It has the benefits of working for a small company but it also has the benefits of working with a large corporation.

    Cons

    Aging workforce, "this is the way we've always done things", some lack of leadership, not a lot of development opportunities.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Create more development opportunities for employees. Update work processes and get younger more innovative people into the workforce. Become a great place to work.
