I have been working at Esterline

Pros

Big company, set hours to work, employees laid back. Creativity and hard work is appreciated, good communication with senior managers. Great CEO.

Cons

Employees who work for decades not to much of advancement. Politics, but that's everywhere the same.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

More transparency would not hurt.

    I worked at Esterline

    Pros

    Yearly raise. Relaxed atmosphere. Annual performance review.

    Cons

    Too many meetings. Too much red tape. Micromanaging Managers Too much theoretical head knowledge but in reality they don't practice what they preach. Performance review only allows you to get a 2% raise.

    Ability to transfer between divisions
    Professional advancement
    Opportunities to learn the other functional areas of a business
    Exciting industry and products

    Cons

    Some management does not understand entire process
    Need for recognition of the "little people"
    Better plans to staff at the appropriate level

    Tell your employees the truth and not just what they want to hear
    Develop programs to acknowledge achievement at all levels
