Pros

Job stability.Strong Marketing team. Can't think of anything else.

Cons

H1-b sweat shop..Horrible place to work for IT folks..No planning from senior management. No work life balance for IT folks. If you want to spend your weekends working on legacy applications, this is for you.
All the good reviews are from a recent email sent out to all employees to provide a review on Glass door. Most of the positive reviews are from Sales/Customer representatives who seem to be happy. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

Advice to Management

Worrying about the quality than quantity would make this a better place to work.

    Pros

The company is growing fast right now so as long as you are not screwing up there is job security..at least for the IT department. There are a lot of talented employees that are good to work with and get the job done in spite of obstacles.

    Cons

Micromanagement by mid level managers. Take a new idea to your manager and the answer is “we don’t do it that way”..the same idea when presented to your manager from their manager is the “best thing” and why aren’t we doing it?
Overworked. No regard for your personal life when scheduling work. The new Work/Life balance project implemented over the last year basically just adds to your workload. They bring food in so you can work at your desk and thus get more work out of you.
Lack of assessment and planning. Projects are implemented at a very fast pace without needed planning and testing. Works sometimes but other times it waste a lot of time and brings a negative outlook to the environment.
People are treated as 2nd class resources. No recognition from management of a job well done. “Merit” raises, for the most part are just cost of living allowances and are handed out at the same rate for everyone. Job reviews are non-existent other that the self review which is required 2 times a year and then not mentioned or brought up in your manager’s review of you.
Career development is nonexistent unless you are a “yes” man. Esurance has grown and succeeded “in spite” of these managers not because of them. Find a way to hear from the employees without the employee feeling like it will affect his/her job. Slow down and do it right.

    Advice to Management

Everything good needs time. Don’t do work in a hurry. Go into details; it pays in every way. Time means power for your work. Mediocrity is always in a rush; but whatever is worth doing at all is worth doing with consideration. For genius is nothing more nor less than doing well what anyone can do badly.
