Pros

Great benefits, great time off, flexible management. If you want to learn other areas of the department, management will support the career development. Great people to work with and a great location!

Cons

Poor morale, poor upper management leadership, people in positions because of politics not experience. Not a great place to move up in your career, but a good place to build skills.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your employee's concerns and address them. This may retain employees longer and increase satisfaction.

    Pros

    Decent benefits
    Management is flexible with schedules when possible
    Great views of the bay bridge and bay from the lunch room
    Assistance in career training

    Cons

    Promoting people with a high school diploma to a network engineer position. Then let the folks with college degrees continue to work shifts.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Communication throughout the company is very important. Try to keep everyone informed. Closed door meetings are not good for anyone. I hope you figure out how to compete with your competitors and wish you luck!!

    I have been working at Esurance

    Pros

    The office location and friendly co-workers.

    Cons

    - Lack of work -life balance, Esurance has no concept of this and most employees put in unpaid overtime.
    - Masks itself as a standard insurance company but the largest market share is non-standard customers.
    - Adjusters will be assigned 10 claims a day with excessive metrics that are not based on customer service.
    - Pay is below average
    - There is zero respect from Senior management or office managers
    - Benefits are mediocre and are even worse for 2010
    - Career potential is non existent, most of the new hires are through nepotism or former co-workers of management.
    - Esurance is obsessed with JD Powers survey but has yet to figure out why they are stuck at the bottom, but they forget when the claims adjuster have no incentive to give good customer service then the customer in return will give poor customer service surveys.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Treat all employees the same way you treat yourselves at the San Francisco headquarters. For a company to succeed the bottom feeders have to eel appreciated. Focus on customer service and not excessive metrics.
