Former Employee - Marketing Campaigns Manager  in  New York, NY
Former Employee - Marketing Campaigns Manager in New York, NY

I worked at Euromoney full-time for more than 3 years

Pros

No one really cares that you drink at lunch. Most of senior management would brag of their hangovers on a daily basis.

Cons

- Reports, Reports, Reports
- Management's idea of creativity is moving numbers from one column to the other
- No digital innovation. They're scared of spending money, therefore Bloomberg is shredding them in competition.
- If your ideas are better than management's either of these 2 things will happen:
   - They will disregard your ideas and then laugh about it over "pints at the pub"
   - You will get fired or pushed out
- Very clicky among management
- It has been at a steady decline since the financial meltdown.
- They operate a very lean workforce.
- If you're in marketing get ready to handle 3-5 publications.
- If you're in editorial, get ready to be the digital strategist, writer, copywriter and associate marketing manager
- If you're in sales, you will sit all day and make 100s of phone calls
- If you're in development (haha it hardly exists)

I have been working at Euromoney

    Pros

Fun interesting colleagues with a good peer work environment. Relaxed.

    Cons

Constant changes in structure, products and with sales/commision targets.

Cheap; tatty offices, no willingness to spend to improve products/services, poor compensation.

No organic growth, only grow through acquisitions.

    Everything is run from London.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Spend more time+money improving the products you have rather than just cutting costs and hasing new firms.

I have been working at Euromoney

    Pros

Most people are nice and that matters a lot but still it does not hide how the company really is. Good for interns as you may learn a lot but be prepared to work hard and learn quickly. They have a culture to throw you at the deep end right away (this applies to everyone not just interns) and see if you swim or sink. This urgency is probably driven by the need to get everything done now.

    Cons

Long hours and stressful. Actions seem to be driven by short-term needs. Poor communication from the management level. Poor systems to work with. Very money-focused.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Show a little care to your staff and demonstrate you actually have some long term goals may bring surprisingly positive benefits to the company and your wallet.

    No opinion of CEO
