I worked at EventPro Strategies as a contractor (less than a year)

Pros

I don't have many nice things to say to be honest. I guess the flexibility of some positions to allow you to work from home is a plus. If you're contracted, the ability to "name your price" is also helpful. It's also great if you're contracted so you can have an end in sight. I believe the ability to advance within the company is strong, so if marketing is your passion and you're aware of how the industry works, it could be a great fit for you.

Cons

Where to begin? This industry is known for causing people in it to have no life. Expect nothing different here. You're expected (and told) to keep your work issued cell phone on you at all times. You are to be available at all times. This means when you aren't scheduled, on your days off, and any other possible time you can think of. You're virtually working 24 hours a day and when you do work more than 40-45 hours a week and try to flex some time off, you get hissed at. This industry isn't for the weak to begin with, so if you can't handle extreme pressures, deadlines, multi-tasking, and being pulled in every direction...don't bother. The senior leadership is paranoid and out of touch with reality. The tools provided to you are useless and cause you to have 15 extra steps added to your every attempt at completing a task.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get a grip! Everyone in the industry knows this isn't a 40 hour a week demand. When your employees are busting their rears, acknowledge it and allow them to flex off the time they aren't getting paid for anyway without a fuss. Understand it's illegal and impractical to force employees to keep their phones on them at all times. You have many a miserable people working for you who are underpaid and severely overworked. It's exhausting. Shame on you.

    Pros

    They offer good pay, and communicate well about exactly what they expect of you. They pay on time.

    Cons

    The only negative thing about EventPro Strategies is it takes a while to get paid for the events you do. But that's not necessarily a negative, because they tell you how long it will be before you get paid before you work the event.

    Hardworking employees who care about what they are doing.
    Nice Office.

    Cons

    In a word - Leadership. Company owner changes her strategy every 6 months and this usually involves a clear out of employees and a change in middle management.
