I have been working at Everyday Health full-time (more than an year)

Pros

Unlimited vacation. Fresh fruit every morning. Occasional pizza lunches. Nice location in the West Village. Most people are genuinely nice.

Cons

The usual problems in a big company. Some managers are nasty and unfair. Some rules are applied unfairly or inconsistently. Open plan office makes it impossible to concentrate without wearing sound-canceling headphones. Too many people in too little space.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get rid of the open plan office layout.

I have been working at Everyday Health full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Large IT group/product group. Reasonably good at quickly taking new digital products to market. Good experience for a mid-level software engineer.

    Cons

Not a people centered company! It is sync or swim with very little on boarding. Salaries are below industry averages and as a result turn-over is super high. Almost impossible to keep a team together for over a year. Very cramped working conditions.

I worked at Everyday Health full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

If you're looking to get a lot of experience and knowledge about different aspects of a web company--sales, editorial, marketing, etc-- this is a good place to be. You'll work often with a lot of different departments on many projects. You'll learn how to do things on a tight deadline and be constantly dealing with a changing company philosophy. The benefits are also pretty good, and unlimited days off are great if your department offers them.

    Cons

The direction of your department, your boss, your division, the company changes so often it's hard to keep up and feel like you're doing your job correctly. Communication between the higher ups is not the best, and the underlings often have to learn of changes on their own.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be upfront with employees about what the company is trying to accomplish. Otherwise employees feel like they're doing fruitless work that won't matter in a few months.
