I worked at Exelis full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

ITT Exelis will pay for your Secret Security Clearance. It is a very solid stable company with very large government contracts.

    Cons

HR department supporting the Middle East makes many mistakes, and as contracting companies go ITT Exelis is among the lowest paying, but they are a great foot-in-the-door if overseas contracting is what you are looking for.

    Advice to Management

Take better care of your employees, and back them up when they are wrongfully accused of misconduct.

I have been working at Exelis as a contractor

    Pros

Pay for Kuwait is about double of the same position in the US (60 hr work week though). Affordable travel since you are in the Mideast.

    Cons

Promote from within policy means you could end up with managers who are better suited for other jobs. Remote sites living conditions are the same as a stationed soldier (not good) and no additional compensation vs. the non-remote employees (nice shared apartment and car in the city). There seems to be a sense that a revolving door is a better business strategy than retaining competent talent.

    Advice to Management

Learn to manage. Read your own handbook and apply policy evenly.
