I have been working at Expedia full-time (more than 8 years)

Pros

Good leadership and lots of fun outside of work.

Cons

As with most companies its size, there is a fair bit of politics and posturing. And there are a few bad apples. As long as one understands that this is the nature of the beast, and one just has to learn to deal with it...it is not a problem

I worked at Expedia as a contractor

    Pros

    -Great views of the city.
-Beer and wine Fridays in the summer.
    -Pay was pretty good.

    Cons

-As a contractor I felt like a leper. I was first placed in a cubicle in a section different from the rest of my team. Nobody in that area EVER said one word to me-not even good morning. Even a few people who were on my team barely said a word to me. Full time employees seemed to be very cliquey. I felt like I was looked down upon from my manager as well. I had more conversation with my cats when I got home than I did with any coworkers!
-Team members prefer to IM you a big long message rather than simply asking you when all they need to do is turn around in their seat and ask. That added to the feeling of isolation.
-As a contractor you never knew what was going on in the company. All these meetings were taking place and you had no clue.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

-Make EVERYONE feel like they are part of the team...even if they are only going to be there for a few months.
-Let contractors know what is going on with the company and not leave them in the dark.
