Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be aware of how much work your employees have on their plate. Good work is often rewarded with more work instead of simple recognition or acknowledgement.

    I worked at Expedia

    Pros

Doing free activities, free restaurant visits, the networking, and meeting people from all over the world, you get wonderful opportunities to experience new things.

    Cons

The management was one of the worst I have ever worked for. They only promote from the outside and hire inept people.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire people that have the skill set to do the job. Hire leaders, innovators, and people that the employees can or already do respect.

    Pros

Work and life balanace are good. Generally reasonable development process.

    Cons

Incompetence among senior management (among technology). Frequent changes of firstline or second line management. Frequent Re-org. Very old technology.
Micromanagement of technical issues by some senior managers (CTO, VPs, etc)
    Limited career growth.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

allow technical experts to make more decision of technology. Stop dictating.
