I worked at Expeditors

Pros

It is one of the only companies in the PNW doing what it does, so if you want a career in logistics, it is one of the only places to be.

Cons

The pay is low, work place is highly monitored. Manager berate employees and snoop. A truly bizarre experience.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

EI needs to reward advanced education as well. Managers are advocates about the status quo because they have no options.

I have been working at Expeditors

    Pros

Expeditors allows you to gain an extraordinary amount of knowledge that you can take with you to any department in the company or anywhere else in the transportation industry.

    Cons

If you are not the type of person to always want to be busy at work, this may not be the company for you.

I have been working at Expeditors

    Pros

The company promotes learning and innovation. It values driven, smart employees and chooses to promote from within for the most part. There is a great year-long management trainee program for the right people.

    Cons

You would really have to screw up big time to get fired, so there are some disgruntled, unappreciative employees who can bring the morale of others down. There is a ton of work, at least in NY, so there is a lot of overtime involved, which can be viewed as good and bad. Most get paid for the overtime, but sometimes, you don't want the money, you just want to go home...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be generous and supportive of your hard working people. Praise those who set themselves apart and are not afraid to think outside the box and try a new process.
