I have been working at Expeditors part-time for more than a year

Pros

Good environment, good teamwork for the most part, very friendly

Cons

bad management, no leadership, all play favoritism in order to move up or get a raise. Too many supervisors during the day and none at night so there is no leadership at night which means a lot of screwing around.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't hire within the family and don't promote them for being your family member when you know very well they don't even deserve a job.

I have been working at Expeditors full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Challenging work if you're a nerd. MIS, computerized modeling, ops myt, and all that jazz

    Cons

Fast paced work, boring government beureaucratic nonsense. Outdated systems( this is a 2 way street if you look at what the company values)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take a little more initiative to make operations a little more standardized. Aid in operational efficiency across the board. (Long Term goal) audit team will look at this more closely. Best practices used to increase productivity

I have been working at Expeditors full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Expeditors offers training for every aspect of the job expected. The people you work with get you through the day. Someone is always helpful and knowledgeable if you are unsure of what is expected at any given time.

    Cons

Management implements new initiatives and expects the results to be instantaneous. They also have made it to their positions without ever having done the actual work of the people who work under them. It is very clear that they do not understand the magnitude of work. They continuously pile on work without asking if it is too much to handle. If you need overtime, you have to give a play-by-play of what you've done and why you need overtime and are reluctant to let you have it. You also need to let them know half way through the day if you need overtime, otherwise don't bother asking.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more trusting of the employees. Understand that agents want to move up and give them the tools necessary to achieve their goals.
