Expeditors – “When I die I'll go to heaven- I've spent my time in hell - Expeditors.”

It pays a little better than unemployment. They know how to make money.
Cons
It's a cult - IT vp actually said that to fit in here you have to drink the Kool-Aid. Every thing about the place is homegrown and they think it's an advantage. It's a technological backwater and there is no technical career path- you have to become a manager to make any money. "Fitting in" is extremely important. My favorite thing is that having a sense of humor is a corporate value and I've never worked in a more opressive environment.
Advice to Senior Management
Stick with your strategy of hiring recent grads because no one who has ever worked for a company where your basic human dignity is respected will ever be happy here.

Inappropriate?
It's not just the IT 'grunts' that share the opinions expressed in this review. Motivation, morale and retention are serious problems for the company. As the economy improves, watch as talented IT professionals leave for better jobs. If these issues go unaddressed, they will surely affect your quarterly bonus.
Inappropriate?
One of my biggest complaints is that they treat employees like children. There is no faith that you will get your work done. They spend more time ensuring that you are "following the rules" than they care to spend ensuring that things are really progressing or what you are working on is worthwhile and valuable to moving the company forward. I left not long after the reorg where they put the business managers in a committee to give the go-ahead for projects. Absolutely ridiculous process and totally futile. Not to mention the turf battles over resources.
