Some groups have been severely impacted by off-shoring.
Company seems to be getting top-management heavy. General trend is to migrate IT positions offshore and this has lead to job stability in certain areas.
Not enough attention is being paid to core technical competencies, it seems the general skill level is in decline.

Nice stable place to work as long as career development and excitement is not high on your priority list.

I have been working at Experian Americas

    Pros

This is a relatively stable company with many business units (credit monitoring, lead generation, research, marketing services, etc.) and diverse revenue streams. This means plenty of opportunities regardless of your skill sets and interests. Working environment is stable and not too hectic.

    Cons

This company has all the feel of an old school company with an old boy network running things. It is bureaucratic and does not exhibit much speed, and the culture lacks excitement. One business unit often doesn't know what other business units are doing or what they are about. Pay/benefit packages and career development programs are meager.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Better cross business unit communication and education, so that employees feel like they are part of a cohesive whole with a unified vision & strategy and that they know where they fit in this vision.

    I worked at Experian Americas

    Pros

It is a large company doing or attempting many interesting things and as such offers lots of potencially interesting work and challenges. They have tons of unique data assets

    Cons

If you are going to work for Experian, go to work for one of the core businesses; Experian has many "hobby" businesses that are poorly run.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you want your incubator businesses to grow, get people to run them who know what they are doing. Also, quit hiding behind the martgage industry excuse for poor performance; instead, develop solutions that have more application in a down market.
