  2. Love the clothes, but didn't like being employed by the company.

I worked at Express full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great fashion alternatives to the High End designer fashions. Great Music to listen to, while you are working on task or helping customers. Its a good second job, only if you stay an associate.

    Cons

Pays only Minimum wage to associates and management wages are not competitive to the retail market. The District Manager expected hourly managers to work off the clock (to stay with-in hour budget) to complete tasks such as: floor sets, processing shipment and prepping the store before opening. Not sure if all districts in the company operate this way; however this is how are DM had us doing things. There is no "Work, Life, Balance" and this company doesn't live up to the Values and Integrity it sets.

    Advice to Management

Pay your internal people better and give them a better clothing discount than what you offer your customers! Plus don't make them work off the clock! Also, make sure the clothes have better quality, if you are going to charge the prices you do.
