Pros

Great benefits, the people I worked with and nice facility.

Cons

Way to much micromanaging. Management was never around when you needed help. Worked a lot of long hours.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your employees needs and you might have less of a turnover rate.

Arguably the Worst Company I've Ever Worked For

    • Comp & Benefits
    • Work/Life Balance
    • Senior Management
    • Culture & Values
    • Career Opportunities

    Pros

Good tuition reimbursement; Good and comparable 401k matching; It's a paycheck in a still weakened economy; Decent paid time off allowance.

    Cons

The company only cares about the bottom dollar...........period. It places absolutely no value on its employees. Everyone is disposable, at all levels. The merger will only make that even more apparent. Integrity is nonexistent which is unfortunate because some really good people work for this company.
Raises are a joke, at best. The only ones who get really decent raises are the ones who are very well liked by managers or higher or who know how to suck up really well. And bonuses are nonexistent. I've never heard of or seen a company that goes so far out of its way to find ways not pay bonuses and all while making record profits. On the rare occasion they do, it's negligible. And there is ZERO recognition at the site level. If you value recognition for a job well done, this is not the place for you.
It's the most back stabbing environment I've ever encountered and toxic at best. If you don't know how to pay office politics and also plan on being anywhere above the bottom rungs of the ladder, you will not last.
Leadership is non-existent. I've had 8 managers in less than 8 years and only a couple displayed any sort of leadership mentality. The fundamental leadership model is "do as i say, not as i do".
There is no professional development of any kind. If you want to work for a company that believes in developing its employees and pushing them to be better, this is not the place to be.
The company is 100% reactive to everything. They are proactive about nothing. At any level, you will spend most of your day putting out fires that could have been prevented because everything they implement and put in to place is haphazardly thought out.
By far, I've never seen a company so adamant in not upgrading and investing in new technology. Which is ironic considering it's supposed to be a company value.
Lastly, there is no work/life balance. Regardless of your personal life or personal issues, the company expects you to give 110% of your life to it no matter what. And if your personal life does get in the way, there is the looming threat of being let go.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest some time and money into your employees instead of Wall Street and stock shares.

I have been working at Express Scripts full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Medco was a good company with good core values, but sold out to Express Scripts which never had a reputation as a good place to work. Good employees, wonderful clients, nice systems.

    Cons

Express does not value employees or clients, the merger is supposed to save a billion dollars. It's cut a thousand jobs so far. They bought the competition, so there's no drive to improve. They have tossed out top talent - well trained professional people and are looking for new cheap and cheerful interns.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

People respect honesty, let them know turnover with employees is the express way. This is not a merger, but a takeover.
