I have been working at ExxonMobil full-time

    Pros

    - Competitive salary and benefits
     - High-level of responsibility early in career
     - Good opportunities to develop
I've enjoyed working there and I've had the opportunity to work with great people

    Cons

    - Company can be very bureaucratic
     - Overworked employees
     - Ranking can be unfair... it depends on who you know and good ranking don't always translate into career or salary results

Current Employee - Completion Engineer in Houston, TX

I have been working at ExxonMobil full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Strong training program, great experience early on

    Cons

All about how much your supervisor likes you, if you get stuck with a weak one who will not fight for you your ranking will not go well no matter your performance. Evaluations and raises are very secretive, not really sure why things go the way they do and its all about who you know in the company that gets you ahead. Horrible retention rate at this company of young engineers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Communication is a problem in this company, make sure you reward those who work hard and not just the ones who play the game
