Pros

During busy seasons even with a smaller base rate you can get hired quick and easy and make bigger paychecks.

Cons

You all get paid different rates depending if know someone or not and they hire over you externally. Both the unstable Scheduling sucks and slow seasons suck and greatly affect your pay and number of work hours.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do more of your own work so the ones under you can actually meet or exceed those ridiculously high sales quota.
Also pay more fairly and you would have lower turnover rates and not have to train or give new people experience to take elsewhere and save you're company money.

    Pros

They do pay a little bit better than some of the other corporate optical retailers. They also offer a better commission structure.

    Cons

There are too many downsides to working at Eye Care Centers of America. It is not worth the extra pay as you will feel like you are being beaten to a pulp after every shift.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn how to treat employees fairly and don't criticize them to other employees. Do not take off and hide to go to meetings or go on conference calls all of the time. Give encouragement and praise to someone who does a good job once and a while. Do not hold mandatory 8:00 am Saturday meetings every 3 or 4 weeks. Once in a while, it would be nice to make your employees feel needed. Enough with the stupid acronyms, they do not make for better customer service, or even customer satisfaction. Stop using mindless scripts for everything, especially mandatory 3 sentence greetings for every customer that walks in the door.
