Pros

Government benefits Great retirement with a pension Working air traffic is a complete dream Growth is there if you want to suck up to the big wigs Union representation

Cons

Management is clueless to who you even are Too political Not enough communication between management and employees, even in the same building!

Advice to Management

Remember where you came from. You all started in the same place, doing the same job. Please don't forget that.

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

Good pay, benefits -what you would expect working for the gov. That's about where it ends though with no career advancement.

    Cons

Not much room for real advancement. Any training you might have talked about doing gets cut as funding dwindles. Sometimes can't even do your job at the end of FY as, again, funding dwindles.

    Advice to Management

My manager is OK and tries his best. Just hard to deal with the bureaucracy to try to get anything done.

Not the place to come for attorneys who have ambition.

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

    Great flexibility in your schedule.

    Cons

No training, promotions based on favoritism, disparate work assignments.

    Advice to Management

You shouldn't be a manager if you are trying to get your name in the Marquis lights. Your job is to train and develop your employees. If you do that well, you are a good manager. If you help your employees work like a team, then you are a great leader. But, if what you are seeking is to make a name for yourself as a great attorney, then go work for a private law firm where you can prove yourself. Otherwise, your victory will be like celebrating art in a dark closet. If you came to government, chances are you are lacking somewhere - don't make others pay for your inability to shine in the real world.
