I have been working at FDM Group full-time for more than a year

    Pros

They guarantee you a job in a respectable institute
For two years they will find you work
They are essentially an agency so should you lose your job they find you another but the upside is they pay you while you're in their offices doing some 'training'

    Cons

You are a product, they will not help you with career development in any way shape or form
They pay half the industry standard
They value 'training' at £20,000 however very few courses are trainer led, the Excel VBA course is an abridged version of Excel for Dummies
They tell you salaries after the 2nd year will double but they come in at a lower rate than they promised when first trying to ensnare you, again under industry standard.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat your mounties better. London is expensive especially if you place within a bank, salaries around £21-24k leave us immeasurably poor

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    No opinion of CEO

    I worked at FDM Group

    Pros

    Easy to get in.

A taste of professional working environment.

    Start-up level IT training.

Prospects in working in major financial institutions.

    Cons

Could take up to 6 months(or more) before landing on a job since started.

Underpayed. Equivalent job in an investment bank pays 75%- 100% more than FDM.

Training is basic. Some trainers are trained to train(There are trainer trainees).

No control over career path. The prospects of getting placed entirely depends on the work of sales. I.E. You have little chance on getting a job if sales are not performing, even if you are technically proficient.

Outrageous "Sign-off" process. FDM deliberately slows the Sign-off to keep you from leaving the company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The management of the Academy could show more respect to trainees.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Neutral Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
