I have been working at FEGS Health & Human Services

Pros

FEGS is very flexible with your schedule, and really works around your life outside of work. FEGS prides itself on employee development, I was required to attend numerous workshops and training to help me better carry out my job responsibilities.

Cons

There are really no cons of this job. The only thing that might be some what of an issue would be the fact that it is slightly difficult to move around the organization or move up in the organization because it is so large and provides a large array of different social services.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Feedback would be to provide the same amount of attention to all the different programs, also provide the same amount of funding.

    Pros

Good entry level job for recent college grads without work experience in social services. Higher compensation rate than most Non-profits.

    Cons

Very stressful work environment. Continued scrutiny from supervisors, management that expect staff to turn water into wine. Expect no life

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Obtain feedback from staff and clients on what's not working. This will help reduce high turnover rate and staff burnout.

You can get in entry level with minimal experience.
    Corparate Compliance training is thorough.
Orientation covers everything from health insurance, direct deposit, probationary period, and network passwords.

    Cons

Training is not complete when you are working in the department you were hired to work in.
Management is flaky and pretends not to know what's going on.
Work is never done, and is often times brought home without pay even with great time management skills.
It's like a clique, if you don't fit in you won't last.
People are way to involved in their coworkers personal lives, no lines are drawn.
Management plays favorites and good workers suffer because of it.
