Generally solid, stable employment with excellent benefits. Good incentive compensation (bonus) plan in addition to salary. Many opportunities for training and professional development. The organization's mission (investor protection - market integrity) is not profit oriented and therefore something to be more proud of than typical public/for-profit companies. Facilities and technology support are very good. Average employee tenure is many years indicating many employees are satisfied and choose to stay.
Cons
Too much politics at high levels. Can be difficult to move within and up inside the organization. Management generally does a poor job communicating to employees. Some senior managers are not skilled with people managment but are chosen for subject matter expertise.
Advice to Senior Management
Communicate the goals, progress and achievements of the organization to employees every day.
