Former Employee - Anonymous Employee in Orlando, FL

I worked at FIS full-time (more than a year)

Pros

Competitive Compensation for industry
Decent Benefits
A lot of good colleagues

Cons

FIS is too "big brother". While there is a need for security, it's taken to the Nth degree to where employees feel like they are not trusted. Cold, very corporate culture. Employees at non-headquarters locations are treated differently than those at headquarters.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Company should show trust and respect for their employees

I have been working at FIS full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

    Stable company in financial software.

    Cons

Some not all of the upper management is not fair to all employees; discrimination and don't give others a chance to excel. Particular manager (in the Dallas area) always talk down to others; especially Africa Americans.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be fair to all. I know that HR is aware of this and turns a death ear to it. How sad.

I worked at FIS full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

They have low standards, so this can serve as an easy place to get a job while you're looking for something better.

    Cons

They only give 1% to 1.5% raises. Most of the people that have been there long term are not very competent - so if you have any talent, be prepared to be frustrated. They have overbearing security requirements that make it difficult to get anything done. The company has a hard time keeping developers because they don't treat them very well.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Go get a violin, so you can play it while your empire crumbles.
