Pros

Great benefits, work/life balance, ability to grow within company is abundant

Cons

Not very much on the negative side in my opinion except some of the promotions made while I was there were unexpected people where it didn't make sense

  1. FM Global was a great first job and stepping stone, but was unable to retain an ambitious person like me.

    Pros

Really push employees to learn about the business. Research facility tour. Accomodating. Very nice building.

    Cons

Older colleagues affect the culture. Projects were not cutting edge enough for me. Very slow and formalized progression. Compensation. Rhode Island. .NET development.

    Pros

Strong competitive position. Stable business model. International operation.

    Cons

Rhode Island HQ staff is fairly small with a very long average seniority. Everyone is a neighbor, niece, godson, bowling team member of someone else such that it is a very political environment. The company promotes from within and hires local employee referrals such it really isn't very fresh, innovative or objective. If you live locally and like the status quo and can live with the politics it can be right for you.

    Advice to Management

Stable business model limits innovative thinking. Reliance on the past maybe sewing seeds of own destruction.
