Pros

Very intelligent and hard-working people. Sophisticated models, and opportunities to work on multi-billion dollar businesses. You will be able to learn a lot, other potential employers will be impressed by your skill sets. Most employees are pretty good to work with.

Cons

Lack of career growth. The company hasn't really grown over the past few years, and it appears the company is not looking to really grow. Also, this could be a very demanding work place, turnover has been high.

Company needs to grow.

    - Experience for those new to finance or the valuation field.
    - There are individuals in the firm who are smart and down to earth

    Cons

    - Constant turnover (resignations and layoffs)
    - Management will only communicate what they want you to know
    - Very little opportunity to move up
    - Below market compensation

    Pros

    Some of the people are very down to earth and nice. You will learn a lot about finance and accounting in a short amount of time, and gain some good experience. Business valuation is much more useful to learn than real estate discount, which isn't really transferrable to any other firm.

    Cons

    Compensation is below market and bonuses are pathetic. No salary increases or promotions from year to year for the majority of employees. There is ZERO growth within the firm, despite you taking on more and more responsibility as time goes on. Management is greedy, unprofessional, and many lack any sense of people skills for the most part. Most of these people would have no chance of finding a job at any other firm. They have an inflated sense of themselves and their firm. Please keep politics and strong personal views (which people can't speak up against) out of the workplace. Everyone's morale is low because most are afraid to speak up. There is no structure within the firm. They will lead you on and not do what they say.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Think about your employees rather than yourselves. Your greed is very transparent. You wonder why everyone wants to leave as soon as possible, but it is so obvious to everyone including your HR. Give people some incentive to stay, such as growth and salary boosts (even if a small amount). Otherwise, people are getting older and more experienced, but still stuck in the same position they were in when they arrived.
