I worked at FTD full-time for more than 3 years

Pros

Travel perks, Working with all types of people. I really believed in the brand and wanted it to succeed.

Cons

Dishonesty, to customers and employees. Too political.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Install managers that can see real assets to the company, without feeling threatened. Then provide real career opportunities. It is sad that current management are unable to grasp what it take to win. As a result, a 105 year american icon will be lost.

    I worked at FTD full-time

    Pros

A majority of the employees were very hard working and very friendly.

    Cons

After the split with United Online, executive staff did not have a CLEAR direction of where they wanted company to go. Very disorganized, lots of silos, to many chiefs, not enough people to do the work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Figure out where you are trying to take company!

I worked at FTD as a contractor for less than a year

    Pros

    - You know your schedule a month ahead of time so you can plan your life accordingly
    - Team leads are knowledgeable about product and are willing to help

    Cons

    - One week of training does not cover most situations you encounter
    - Hideously old computer equipment crashes twice a day, work force yells at you if you have to call them to reboot
    - You're expected to sell and upsell, but you get no commissions for doing so
    - During season you are expected to show up at 5:00 AM to work

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest in newer equipment, pay sales commissions to ALL employees
