FUJIFILM Employee Review
FUJIFILM – “It was Fun While it Lasted.”

I loved my job with Fujifilm. When someone recently asked me about my dream job, I thought for a moment and then said, "The one I just lost". My experience working for Fujifilm was very positive although I suspect that that was due in large part to the facility where I worked and to my co-workers. The same may or may not be true company-wide. I was fortunate enough to have an exceptional manager who provided good direction and supervision when needed but did not micromanage. Daily communication through voice mail and email was very good. I felt like my input was appreciated.
Cons
Like so many large companies today, Fujifilm is downsizing. At any level, there is no more job security. Plant closings and nation-wide layoffs have eliminated many excellent workers. I wouldn't say the future looks very bright for the remaining employees either. Employment trends for this industry are dismal. I rate Career Opportunities a 3.5 because in this economy, anyone with a good job at Fujifilm is trying desperately to hold on to it. There is very little voluntary turnover. Many employees involved in the most recent waves of lay-offs had worked there well over 20 years. This is by no means unique to this company but for anyone still there, I wouldn't put all my eggs in the Fujifilm basket.
Advice to Senior Management
We've all heard it hundreds of times. Good customer service is the key to keeping your customer happy. Make it a reality, not just a slogan. Eliminating reps in the field was a major step backward in providing good service. A broker will not have the same knowledge or incentive to go the extra mile.
