I have been working at Facebook as a contractor for less than a year

Pros

Open culture, smart coleagues, lots of growth opportunities, gourmet lunches, flexible schedule, hard work

Cons

Management is a bit non existent, needs to learn to be more transparent and better communicate expectations to newbis. Otherwise great people, honest and smart.

I have been working at Facebook

    Pros

Great food, great campus, great projects to work on. As an engineer you have a lot of autonomy on what to work on.

    Cons

Campus is in the middle of nowhere, so not much interaction with people from other companies or local startups.

I worked at Facebook as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

The environment is very stress free and people seem very welcoming

    Cons

I don't know if this is true for full time workers, but for interns there is a lot of politics going on. Basically, if you wanna get an offer at the end of the internship, you better suck up to your manager big time. I knew plenty of people who were some of the best coders I have ever met, who did not get along so well with their managers, so they didn't get an offer. There were also people who didn't know what they were doing, but because they sucked up to their managers, got good offers.... Very disappointing

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Before you decide whether to extend an offer to an intern or not, look at what they did, not what their manager's opinion of them is.
