Former Employee – worked at Fairmont Hotels & Resorts full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – They really put the colleagues first, it is not just talk their philosphy is that if they take care of their employees the employees will look after their customers and return which will deliver returns for ownership
Cons – Politics at hotel level Executive Committee can be tiresome this is evident at nearly all properties, more mature leadership is required
Advice to Senior Management – Need a better sucession planning system for managers and share it with them, especially the Non Reccomends on the FSI. Many senior managers do not get promotions or transfers because of their results on Gallup FSI or the cost of relocating them, however this is never shared with them. This flies in the face of how managers are expected to manage and develop the colleagues.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company
