I worked at Fairway Market (New York) full-time (less than an year)

Pros

The store is nice, but pricey

Cons

I worked in the kitchen, lacks sanitation control, all Spanish speaking employees, a lot of the hot bar food are frozen which includes tilapia, flounder, lobster raviolis, chicken wings, some vegetables.

A lot of the sauces are from jars.

I worked at Fairway Market (New York) full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Store is clean and well kept

    Cons

Managers at Pelham Manor store are all liers, i have over 30 years experience in food retail and an expert salmon slicer, went for job in deli dept and was hired at a rate of 8.50 hr with the promise of my wage going up after thirty days if i showded dept manager that i knew what i was doing. Which i accepted, its a verbal agreement. Thirty days came and passed and nothing, talk to assistant manager about it, nothing, district manager, nothing, store gm, nothing. How do you give someone with so nany years in the business and who is older than the gm and assist gm, 8.50 an hour. That isnt fair at all. This company wants the talent but at a really cheap rate. Citarella pays 12.00hr just for slicing salmon...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay for what you want in an employee, experience, not what you think a person is worth.
