I have been working at Family Dollar Stores full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Having a great team that works hard yet understands that the upper levels of the corporation are no at all in touch with reality. However teams are built and not given.

    Cons

The list of cons as a Store Manager are very long, they want you to work 70-80 hours a week alone. This leaves an open gap to be robbed or injured without aid. Also if the head of loss prevention finds you working alone you will be written up. The reason you will be working alone id due to the fact that they allocate 5-6% for your payroll. They set you up to fail from the start!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

My advice would be for the corporate level to stop trying to cut payroll and invest in stores. This would remove the general skankiness that is seen across the board at every Family Dollar you enter.
Treat Store Managers like real managers not cattle.
